Debbie Rogers

A celebration of life for Debbie (Newell) Rogers, 71, of Whitehouse, TX will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler with Pastor Jason Elwell officiating. Debbie was an amazing wife, mom, Dede, sister, and friend. She passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024, in Whitehouse, TX. She was born August 29, 1952, in Sherman, TX to Hal and Margaret Newell, and grew up with three brothers and one sister. Debbie graduated from Lancaster High School in 1970 and jumped straight into her career. She spent her whole career at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas where she was a very successful salesperson and leader until she retired in 2009. Debbie was very active in her younger years and loved spending time on the lake, water skiing, snow skiing, and being the best mom. As she started to get older, she transitioned her time to being the best Dede to her grandkids and a wonderful friend to those around her. Debbie had a way of making everyone feel like family. Her friendships were one of her greatest treasures, and she nurtured them with incredible care and devotion. Whether it was through her thoughtful gestures, her infectious laughter, or her listening ear, she had an extraordinary ability to make others feel valued and understood. She was supremely proud of her family and would brag about her grandkids to anyone who would listen. Debbie loved her family so much that she’d get emotional over every birthday or Mother’s Day card she received. She will be incredibly missed by all who knew her. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Hal and Margaret Newell; and sister, Glenda Barrett. She is survived by her loving family including her husband, Phil Rogers and spoiled dog, Duke; son, Scott Conner and his wife Alicia, grandkids Reese and Caleb; daughter, Cassie Kirkley her husband Robert, grandkids Colt and Kimber; brothers, Glen (Bubba) Newell, Mike (Monkey) Newell, and Tim (T) Newell and his wife Dena.
