Edna Christine Parker

Edna Christine (Chris) Parker, 76, of Frankston, TX cast off the bonds of mortality on May 28, 2026, in Tyler, Texas as a result of complications from Alzheimer’s Disease. Her husband, Joe Ed Parker, and friends were at her side. Born on March 15, 1950, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Chris is the daughter of James Dee Anderton and Edna Arlene Elder Anderton. She frequently reminded us “Beware the Ides of March.” Accomplished figure skater in her youth, lover of powdery ski slopes, and Volkswagen bugs, Chris left her cherished Wasatch Mountains behind to serve with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, D.C. in 1970. At the Bureau she met her future husband, Joe Edward Parker. They married that same year in the Logan Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Chris gave up her career, skates, and slopes to devote her life to nurturing and raising their family as they traveled the world. Everywhere they went, Chris mastered the culinary arts of the locale she was in. She loved sharing her wisdom with her boys, their friends, and missionaries of the Church. Many young people have and will apply throughout their lives what she planted in them – wisdom, love and service. A lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Chris served her faith throughout her life wherever the family went in many roles around the world. Chris is survived by her husband, Joe Ed Parker, five sons and their wives – Travis and Jennifer (El Paso), James and Sarah (Iowa City, IA), Bryan and Sara (Puyallup, WA ), Paul and Aundrea (Rapidan, VA), and Matt and Tiffany (Rowlett) – eighteen grandchildren – Morghan, Madison, Clayton, Jasper, Clark, Taylor, Logan, Ezra, Rhys, Phoebe, Noah, Sam, Amélie, Desmond, Beckham, Radin, Hyde, and Goldie, sister – Terri (Royce) Prince and a passel of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral arrangements will be provided by Stewart Family Funeral Home, Tyler, TX. Visitation will be held there on June 5, 2026, from 6 PM to 8 PM. A Celebration of Life service will be held there on June 6, 2026, at 10 AM, officiated by Bishop Johnny Acker of the Bullard II Ward. Interment to follow at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Chris’s family requests that donations be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Alliance closest to the donors home.
