Lynne Arden Craft-Dotson

Lynne Arden Craft Dotson, 78, lifelong resident of Tyler, Texas went home to be with her Lord and Living Savior on Thursday, November 10, 2016 with her loving family and many friends at her side. It was a beautiful day to enter God’s Kingdom. Lynne, “Mamoo” known by her loving kids and grandkids, was born November 19, 1937 in Tyler Texas to Samuel Otto and Esther “Bo” Lio Craft. Lynne attended the Saint Gregory Catholic School of Tyler and Tyler High. She attended Loyola University in New Orleans and Texas Christian University. She married her high school sweetheart Billy Dotson on May 7, 1958 in Tyler. Throughout her life she was a devoted wife, mom, homemaker, child raiser, grandmother and soon to be great-grandmother and friend; focused on raising her two children and family in a Christian home. Lynne was preceded in death by her parents, husband of eighteen years William “Billy” Henry Dotson, Jr., nephew William Brent Dotson; in-laws, William “Bill” Henry Dotson, Sr., Beatrice Eva Dotson and Ruth Dotson and son-in-law, Dan Strange. She is survived by her loving children, son, Samuel “Kirk” Dotson; daughter-n-law, Michelle Bishop Dotson; daughter, Gay Lynne Dotson Strange; grandkids, Cameron William Dotson and wife Caitlin, Blair O’Neal Dotson, Caden Kent Dotson and a great-granddaughter, on the way March 1, 2017; brother, Leo Otto Craft and wife Kathy, brother-in-law, Doug Dotson, his children, Zane and wife Michelle, and Kaela Dotson; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and devoted friends. Lynne “Mamoo”, enjoyed and treasured being with family and friends traveling, playing poker, shopping and talking. Finally, Christmas and all that goes with it, down to the talking Santa Clauses and musical gadgets that she bought for her grandkids. All who knew her will miss her funny conversations, laughs and beautiful smile. Lynn was a charter member of the Katherine Speas Garden Club of Tyler and Willowbrook Country Club. She also was a lady in waiting in Tyler’s Annual Rose Festival. “Mamoo” was especially proud that her family homestead, the Craft home, built in 1939 by her father, at 1613 Delano Road in Highland Park, was selected for the Mary John Spence annual Historical Tyler Home Tour. Requiem Mass will be Monday, November 14, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Tyler’s Cathedral of Immaculate Conception Church with Father Kevin Young residing, with a meet and greet of family and friends at 1:30 PM, 30 minutes prior to the service, within the church south annex. A private family burial will be held at Tyler’s Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. A special loving thanks goes to several loving professionals and friends who were at her side the last year. Those include nurse Ruth Ward, lifelong family friend, Bert McDonald, Lisa and Jim White, Providence Park Therapy Home, in particular, Larnesha Wooren and therapist Brian, nurse Tommy, and finally and not last, the loving and Christian care of The Hospice Of East Texas, with a special gratitude and praise to Dr. Becker and nurse Nathan, two of Gods special Angels.
