Deacon Dr. Mark Anthony D'Eramo

Deacon Dr. Mark Anthony D’Eramo, 63, of Tyler, Texas was born to eternal life on June 1, 2013 following a long and gallant battle with cancer. Born in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania on January 7, 1950, Mark was raised in Houston and graduated from the University of Texas Medical School at Galveston in 1985. He completed his residency at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. In addition to his medical practice he lived a life of dedicated service as an ordained Catholic Deacon and was a long time member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception church in Tyler. His legacy is his faith, and the love of his family, which he called his earthly “Crown of Glory.” Mark is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 24 years Mary Jane, and five admiring children Laura Elena (23), Sylvia Nicole (20), Anthony Nicholas (18), Aaron Joseph (16) and Augustine Odysseus (11). He is also survived by his sister Catherine Ann D’Eramo and husband Michael Bologna, brother Leonard Anthony D’Eramo, wife Rhonda and nephews Joseph and Jake of Houston, mother-in-law, Marie Huelsman of St. Henry, Ohio, sisters-in-law Barb Gerard and husband Mike, Marcia Jackson and husband Jerry, Karen Jilek and husband Jim, and brother-in-law Jerry Huelsman and wife Cindy all of Ohio. He is beloved by numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Always the source of encouragement to everyone, he was known and loved for his resounding “Bravos!” He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Mary D’Eramo of Houston, and father-in-law Ralph Huelsman of St. Henry, Ohio, and brother-in-law Tom Huelsman and wife Birdie of San Antonio, Texas. A visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home in Tyler, with a rosary starting at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Bishop Joseph E. Strickland presiding, assisted by priests and deacons of the Diocese of Tyler. Father Anthony McLaughlin, Rector of the Cathedral, will be the homilist. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery.
