Martha Crone

Services for Martha Frances Wade Crone, 79, of Tyler, will be held on Wednesday, April 6th, at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Stewart Family Funeral Home with Rev. Rob Fisher officiating. A private burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tyler. Martha went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 3rd after a lengthy illness. She was born October 28, 1931 in Tyler to the late Euris Jackson Wade and Lessie Ann Campbell Wade. Martha was a member of Pollard United Methodist Church, and the (former) Rose Garden Chapter of American Business Women’s Association, for which she served as President and was recognized as the 1989 Woman of the Year and also received the Ambassador Award; and was a former member of Cedar Street United Methodist Church. She graduated from Tyler High School, class of 1949, and Tyler Junior College. She was a secretary with the Tyler District Office of the Texas Department of Public Safety, retiring after 26 years. Martha was preceded in death by her brothers, Travis Edwin Wade and Eugene Jackson Wade. She is survived by her loving family, including devoted husband of 60 years, Bobby D. Crone; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Tia Crone of Sioux City, Iowa, Eddie and Linda Crone of Waco, and daughter, Marilyn Crone, of Seattle; sisters-in-law, Norma Jean Alfred, Alice Crone, and Patsy Fetter; brother-in-law and wife, Harold Ray and Pat Crone; grandchildren, Rachel Keough, Mandi Keough, Kristin Crone, Taylor Crone and Jordan Crone; three great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. Pallbearers will be Glenn Sudduth, Paul Meier, Gary Alfred, Mark Alfred, Dennis Mortis and Daniel Moore. Honorary pallbearers are Gene Williams, Dick Jett, Dennis Stone, Joe Goodin and members of the Builders’ Class, Pollard United Methodist Church. Visitation is scheduled from 5:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 5th at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Hwy., Tyler, Texas 75703. The family wishes to give special thanks to the caring staff at Hospice of East Texas.
