Nancy Holsomback

Nancy Lea Holsomback, of Tyler, Texas passed away on July 24, 2026, at the age of 86. She passed away peacefully following a long illness. Nancy was born in Huntsville, Texas on March 24, 1940, and was the only child of Sam and Arlea Sanford. She grew up in Houston, Texas and graduated from Sam Houston High School. Nancy met the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Holsomback in 1983. They were married in 1986 in Houston, Texas. Nancy enjoyed a 22 year career with Exxon/Mobile before retirement in 1996. She and Bob moved to Flint, Texas that year and were members of Southside Baptist Church. Nancy loved sewing, gardening, and baking. She cheerfully shared her talent and created many amazing embroidered and applique gifts for family, friends, and the residents of Breckenridge Village. Nancy also enjoyed assisting Bob with his woodworking. Nancy and Bob were faithful and passionate volunteers and supporters of the Breckenridge Village, a caring residential community for adults with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities. Her greatest happiness came from spending time with Bob. Nancy and Bob enjoyed travel and especially loved the Canadian Rockies where they spent their honeymoon and 25th wedding anniversary. Together, they traveled many times to the Great Smoky Mountains. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Sam and Arlea Sanford and her loving husband Bob Holsomback. She is survived by: her loving step-children sons, Howard “Lee” (Vanessa) Holsomback of Camden, North Carolina; Hunt (Pamela) Holsomback of Englewood, Colorado; daughters Hope Holsomback of Bealeton, Virginia and Heather (Elliott) Sneed of Farmingdale, New York; grandchildren Hunt Jr (Devan); Karl; Abby; Micah; and Reagan; great grandson, Asher; and cousins, Pete Hoke, Waller, Texas; Judy Seawright, Houston, Texas; Janie Hoke, Spring Texas; Elsie Pool, Richards Texas; Sharon Welch , Bedias Texas; Lynda Hoke, Spring, Texas and other cousins in the Huntsville and Houston area. The funeral service will be held at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Hwy, Tyler, Texas 75703 on August 3, 2026 at 2pm with visitation 1 hour prior. Burial will be at Brookside Memorial Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
