Ramona Mangum Scott

Services for Ramona Lee Mangum Scott, 86, of Tyler, will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Stewart Family Funeral Home with Rev. Matthew Boulter officiating. Burial will follow at Cathedral In The Pines in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Scott passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015 in Tyler. She was born April 20, 1929 in Clovis, New Mexico to Owen A. and Bernice Wade Mangum. Ramona graduated from Carlsbad, New Mexico, High School in 1945. She married Jack C. Scott on January 9, 1946. They lived in Lubbock and Groves, Texas, and then moved to Tyler in 1959. Ramona was a 36 year breast cancer survivor. She worked for Reach For Recovery and was also a thirty-year volunteer at ETMC. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church for 45 years. Ramona was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jack Scott; infant grandson Gregory Hendrickson; sister Jean Burgett, and brother Owen Mangum. She is survived by her loving family including daughters Delores Hendrickson and husband Greg and Teresa Colwell and husband Terry; grandchildren Scott Hendrickson and Audrey Owens, Julie Hendrickson-Fleischmann and husband Nathan, Kevin Colwell, Tiffany Colwell-Mercer and husband Chris; great-grandchildren Melanie and Michael Hendrickson, and Harper and Jack Fleischmann; sisters Marjorie Green of Kansas, and Sue Harbin of Eastland; brother Jim Mangum of Vidor; sister Ann Higginbottom of Abilene; best friend Joyce Quitter; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Greg Hendrickson, Terry Colwell, Scott Hendrickson, Kevin Colwell, Chris Mercer, Nathan Fleischmann and Randy Hendrickson. The family would like to thank Dr. Sloan, Dr. Carr, Dr. Droder, Dr. Andrews and the Mother Frances staff, as well as her caregivers Peggy and Caroline. Visitation is scheduled from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday, August 14, 2015 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
