Richard Stock

Services for Richard A. Stock, 74 of Tyler, will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at 1:30 PM at Green Acres Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. Paul Campbell officiating. Burial will be at 12 noon in Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler under direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. Mr. Stock passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, December 12, 2008 at the Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. He was born January 18, 1934 in Quincy, Ill. to the late Fred and Ethel Billings-Stock. He was raised in Quincy, Illinois where he graduated from high school then went on to attend Quincy College. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War then he returned to the states. He moved to Sioux Falls SD in the early 1960’s, where he owned and operated a dry cleaner. In 1966 he married Nancy Ageton in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, then moved back to Sioux Falls, SD and then to Tyler in 1982. He owned a dry cleaner in Henderson, and was involved in the dry cleaning business in Tyler. He was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church. Mr. Stock enjoyed working, helping people, photography, and he especially loved his family. Mr. Stock was preceded in death by his sister Bette Thomas and brothers Glenn Stock, Bill Stock and Don Stock. Richard is survived by his loving family including his wife of 43 years Nancy Stock of Tyler, children, Todd and Gina Stock of Sunnyvale, CA., Tammy Miller and husband Bryan of Tyler, Troy Stock and wife Megan of Tyler, Dan Stock and wife Joni of Sioux Falls, SD, John Stock of Austin, , grandchildren, Ashley, Khylie, Drew, Noah, Aspyn, Zayne, Olyvia, Solaris, Lumina, Marley, Hannah, Sam and Maggie, sisters, Bonnie Scholl of Dallas, Rosemary Rojas of Tampa, FL, brothers, Steve Stock of Moline, IL., Roger Stock and wife Rea of Seagoville and Bob Stock and wife Lilly of California, also survived by many nieces and nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Lee Ridenour, Doyle Campbell, Joe Runnels, Chip Jones, John Douglas Barker, Ben McFadden, David Jay, Robin Rice, James Brady and Terry Ramm.
