Ronald David Weydert

Mr. Weydert passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025 in Tyler, TX. He was born June 19, 1939 in Dubuque, Iowa to Harold and Marie Weydert. Ronald was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Tyler, Texas. He graduated from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. He held the position of Manager of Shared Services for Technical Information Authoring Worldwide Agriculture Equipment Division with John Deere. Mr. Weydert retired in 2004 after 41 years with Deere & Company. After retirement, Ronald along with his wife Terry, moved to Texas to begin the next chapter in their lives. Ronald could often be seen sporting his leather vest and Justin cowboy boots. He served honorably in the US Army Reserves from 1962-1968. From growing up on a small farm in rural Peosta, Iowa with seven siblings, to traveling the world with John Deere, Ronald had a passion for agriculture and deep love of family and country. He was always ready with a wealth of knowledge for a conversation about John Deere, politics, or firearms. Ronald loved his hunting trips for deer, antelope, and elk, fishing, boating with his captain’s hat on his head, cigar in hand, Johnny Cash on the stereo, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His hunting trips with his brothers and good friends were a major highlight in Ronald’s life. He also enjoyed reminiscing of times with his siblings on the farm. He had an unwavering love and respect for all animals and never hesitated to provide help or a home for a stray animal in need. Anyone that knew Ronald knew that he loved his dogs who were constant companions to him. Ronald was preceded in death by his father Harold Weydert, mother Marie Breitbach Weydert, brother Richard (Harry) Weydert, and sisters Barbara Lambert, Carolyn Weydert, and Ann Marie Weydert. He is survived by his loving family including his wife of 24 years, Terry Weydert, brothers Gerald (Mary Kay) Weydert, Roger (Mary) Weydert, sister Kathy Luckritz and brother-in-law Richard Lambert, children Lori (Jeff) Engel, Amy (Tony) Weydert, Scott (Claudia) Weydert. Stepchildren Dr. D. Scott Devinney, Nanette Devinney, Dru (Robert) Devinney-Moore, 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
