Sheri Ann Pugh Figueroa

Mrs. Sheri Ann Pugh Figueroa was born January 21, 1961 in Lubbock, Texas to Ray O. and Patsy Ruth Starnes Pugh. She departed this life on Monday, April 16, 2018 at her home in Whitehouse, TX surrounded by her family. Sheri was united in marriage with Claude Figueroa on December 27, 1980. Their union was blessed with 3 precious children. Sheri was preceded in death by her father Ray Pugh and sister Rachel Pugh Figueroa. She is survived by her loving family including her mother, Mrs. Patsy Starnes Pugh; loving husband of 37 years, Claude Carlos Figueroa; their three children Eric William, Valerie Karyn and Steven Joseph; daughter-in-law, Whitney Figueroa; grandchildren, Brandon Joseph, Sara Elizabeth and Abigail Grace; brother, Don Pugh; sister, Missy Pugh and sister-in-law, Dee Pugh, along with many nieces and nephews. Sheri was a loving wife, devoted mother, adoring Mimi, cherished daughter, and caring sister. Being an avid singer, Sheri filled her days and home with her angelic voice. She devoted herself to family, making home a place where everyone wanted to be. She not only shared her love with her family, but showed them the love she had for Christ and her faith in God. Her selfless spirit and Christian life were as beautiful as the flowers and hummingbirds she loved. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. Sheri was a member of the Church of Christ, where she enjoyed teaching bible class and lifting praises to the Lord. She was a graduate of Baker High School in Fairborn, Ohio and received her Associates Degrees in Science and Arts from Victoria College, Victoria, TX along with being inducted into the Gamma Beta Phi Society. In the course of her career, she spent time as a marine radio operator, assisting large oil tankers and freighters into the port of Freeport, TX as well as being a telephone operator. She taught preschool for over 25 years, sharing her faith, love of life, and joy of music with the scores of children who came to know and love her as Ms. Sheri. Upon retiring, Sheri became a full time Mimi, a title she cherished with all her heart. Though our days together in this life have come to an end, we rejoice in the time we had together and take comfort knowing you are home waiting for us to come see you again. Memorial Services for Sheri Pugh Figueroa, 57, of Whitehouse, will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. in the Stewart Family Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Fleet officiating.
