Tamara Sue Dickson

Tammy Mazurier-Dickson entered the world on April 6, 1959, in El Paso, Texas. She left this world to join her Heavenly Father, and Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, family and friends already residing in their Heavenly home. She married the love of her life Davis Erle Dickson on May 20, 1989, in Tyler, Texas. Tammy was a graduate of The University of Texas at Tyler receiving a B.S. Interdisciplinary Studies. Tammy retired at the end of the school year 2014, from Whitehouse I.S.D., where she taught Pre-K for 15 years. Prior to that she had worked for TJC in both Student Activities and Support Services Offices for a little over 10 years. Tammy loved working with students young and old encouraging them to become all that they could be. Her students always recognized Tammy for her loving heart and beautiful smile. She was a true inspiration to her “Little Friends”. Tammy also had a strong compassion for animals. She loved her little Dachshunds and would give a hand to a stray. Tammy was preceded in death by her grandparents Rev. and Mrs. Charles K. Ramsden of Decatur, Illinois, and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Mazurier Sr., of Nokomis Illinois and her beloved in-laws Mr. & Mrs. Erle Dickson, Jr. of Palestine, Texas. She is survived by her husband Davis E. Dickson, Troup, TX, son Jeremy (Bethany), grandchildren Jolea, Thomas & Owen of Hamel. IL, her parents Mr. & Mrs. Tony Mazurier Jr. of Edwardsville, IL, brother Mark (Becky) Mazurier of Washington, IN, and nephew Joshua Mazurier of Vincennes, IN, sister Vickie Turnage, Uncle Charles K. Ramsden, Jr. (Linda) of Powder Spring, TN. She is also survived by numerous cousins whom she loved dearly. Tammy is also survived by her special Dachshund “Dachsie”. Tammy was a member of First United Methodist Church of Troup. She loves our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and always spoke of her Guardian Angels. Tammy shared this Love with her family, friends and students. Funeral Service are to be held at Stewart Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Hwy in Tyler, Texas, on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at 1:30 PM. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Graveside services will be held in Palestine, Texas. Services will be officiated by Rev. Tommy Earl Burton of First Methodist Church of Troup, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be made to First United Methodist Church of Troup, 202 E. Duval St., Troup, TX 75789 or Pets Fur People, 1823 CR 386, Tyler, TX 75708.
